Strandie in the spotlight: Ines Ben Hamoud

Strandie in the spotlight

Strand is turning 10!

We grew continuously in terms of revenue and number of colleagues. But more importantly, we grew in culture, attitude, involvement, community strength and family bonds. In short, our family did not only grow, it became stronger.

And of course this is because of our Strandies. Therefore, we would like to put them in the spotlight and this month we would like you to meet Ines Ben Hamoud, a true Strand Ambassador!

Who is Ines?

Ines is Strand's Finance & Office Consultant. But she has way more up her sleeve than that! Check out the interview below and get to know Ines.

1) How did you end up at Strand?

Via my sister Faye Ben Hamoud. She worked at a different recruitment agency and Strand was recruiting a Junior Accountant. Faye spotted the job posting and told me about it. Fun fact: afterwards, I made Strand recruit her!

2) What’s the best thing about being a Finance & Office Consultant at Strand?

The cocktail of fun responsibilities, the opportunity to being super creative, and doing what I love most: organizing, networking and contributing to a unique company culture. Cheers!

3) How would you describe Strand in 3 words?

Crazy – Opportunity – Fun

4) What’s your biggest win at Strand?

My involvement in the charity program: I grabbed the opportunity to become Charity Project Manager and this is something that is very valuable to me because it makes me feel like I am doing something meaningful for the children. Moreover, I’m trusted with the opportunity to organize a monthly event there, which is a responsibility I’m grateful for and it gives me purpose.

In this regard, I’m especially looking forward to the charity trip to Nepal. I’ve been selected this year to lead a finance project and I’m so honoured and blessed to be part of this wonderful initiative.

5) Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us

When my son was two years old, we packed our bags and backpacked through Hong Kong and Thailand for a month. Travelling with a kid is not traditionally something that people would consider to go smoothly but we made it work with our positive outlook and hunger for adventure and made memories for a lifetime.

6) If you could pick one super power, what would it be?

Definitely the ability to heal people. I wish I could take the pain/sickness away in this world.

7) If you could give one important advice to others in your profession, what would it be?

If you are an administrative professional: you always have to believe in yourself. Your function is centered around helping people but that doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader. It’s a talent to bring people together and to lead them by supporting them.

8) What was your favourite Strand event?

I honestly can’t decide which one because I have amazing memories with all of them. Especially the teambuilding with helicopters comes to mind because it is something you don’t expect BUT it creates a WOW-effect and I love it!

9) Which Strandie deserves a compliment?

Marie Coppée: she’s a real Strandie who is very involved and with a positive mindset. I’m curious to know more about her.

We're happy to have you in our Strand-family, Ines!
