Strandie in the spotlight: Kris Redant

Strandie in the spotlight

Strand is turning 10!

We grew continuously in terms of revenue and number of colleagues. But more importantly, we grew in culture, attitude, involvement, community strength and family bonds. In short, our family did not only grow, it became stronger.

And of course this is because of our Strandies. Therefore, we would like to put them in the spotlight and this month we would like you to meet Kris Redant, a Strand Project Consultant working at Nestlé as a Supply and Demand Planner.

Who is Kris?

Kris is a 34-year old Strandie, with a clear passion for animals, since he has a crazy Labrador (named Lenka), 3 rabits (Juna, Mikey & Snuffels) and 4 chickens (Quick, Queck, Black & Decker). Beside that, he likes to read comic books, go out for dinner & drinks with friends and enjoys taking his dog out for a walk. He studied Economics but has a background in construction and is using that background to build his own house, which has been a big project for the last 5 years.

1) How did you end up at Strand?

Although I’m a quite new Strandie, since November, Strand and I go way back to June 2012. This is when we first met for my permanent placement at Pesico. In 2016, our paths crossed again for a job opportunity at Neuhaus. So, when I thought of a career switch into consulting, Strand was my first and preferred door to knock on.

2) What’s the best thing about being a project consultant at Strand?

You can dive right into the action at the client’s projects or processes and you can really make the difference as you tend to arrive ‘in the heat of the moment’.

3) How would you describe Strand in 3 words?

Fun – Ambitious - Fast

4) What’s your biggest win at Strand?

Thanks to Strand I got the opportunity to work for and with several interesting companies and learn a lot about demand and supply chain planning and logistics in various sectors.

5) Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.

I’m quite the LEGO enthusiast. In my childhood, I loved to play with LEGO bricks and this actually never stopped. Through the years the sizes and themes of the sets I collected changed and so I ended up with a collection of over 1000 sets spanning almost 3 decades of LEGO evolution.

6) If you could pick one super power, what would it be?

Having a bottle of Asterix’s magic potion made by the druid Panomarix, so I could take a sip and become invincible in times of need. It’s also the one superpower I know of that you can share with others. The downside, however, is that it has a limited time span, unless you fell into the kettle as a child like Obelix of course. 😊

7) If you could give one important advice to others in your profession, what would it be?

Learn as much as possible from each situation and take every opportunity in life so you can use this to turn your future endeavours into successes.

8) What was your favourite Strand event?

The ‘Shape the Future’ quiz, which was the perfect opportunity to bring other people in contact with Strand, and to connect with the other Strand consultants.

9) Which Strandie deserves a compliment?

Everyone at HQ, from the consultants sniffing out great projects and always being available, to the marketing team for all the fun stuff and last but not least HR and payroll for always being punctual.

We're happy to have you in our Strand family, Kris!
