Strandie in the Spotlight: Pawel Jurkiewicz
Strandie in the spotlightStrand is turning 11!
We grew continuously in terms of revenue and number of colleagues. But more importantly, we grew in culture, attitude, involvement, community strength and family bonds. In short, our family did not only grow, it became stronger.
And of course, this is because of our Strandies. Therefore, we would like to put them in the spotlight and this month we would like you to meet Pawel Jurkiewicz, an expert from our Pharma division.
1) How did you end up at Strand?
That’s a long story, my first job search was quite bumpy. Strand was one of the first companies that I had contacted. In the meantime, I won the selection processes at two different companies and finally, due to hiring freeze problems, did not get any job. Amazingly in this sad moment, I got contacted by Antoine with the proposition of my first project.
2) What’s the best thing about being a Project Consultant at Strand?
There are many brilliant aspects, it is difficult to pick only one. Certainly, the broad range of projects that may shape your career and possibility of training to bring out the best in you. But, I think the top advantage is that with all that support around, you feel close and important to the company.
3) How would you describe Strand in 3 words?
Big caring family!
4) What’s your biggest win at Strand?
I feel very well matched to the current role (Scientific Writer at GSK) and the transition after my PhD in the academic environment to the industry was very smooth. I am happy because the first project allows me to get a full overview of a pharma company.
5) Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.
I have never watched “Star Wars” or the “Lord of the Rings”!
6) If you could pick one super power, what would it be?
Teleportation! It is much more useful to get from A to B without losing time in traffic.
7) If you could give one important advice to others in your function, what would it be?
I'll keep it simple: be happy, work hard and do not forget to have fun when possible.
8) What was your favorite Strand event?
I think I will not be very original by saying the 10th anniversary of the company. What an amazing concept and atmosphere! This showed the strength of the company.
9) Which Strandie deserves to be put in the spotlight next?
I am curious what we could hear from Simon Caudron or Benoit Lebrun.
