History of Catalay & Strand Engineering.

Since its establishment in 2010 in Brussels, Catalay has experienced constant and stable growth. Over the course of 12 years, they solidified their reputation in the Belgian market and have formed alliances with several major companies such as Siemens, Engie, NLMK, and Nexans, who are active in the fields of energy, industry, construction, and infrastructure.

Strand’s engineering division was founded in 2012 in Antwerp as part of Strand Associates Consulting. With their highly skilled engineers, they evolved towards a renowned brand in Flanders, by partnering with (petro)chemical companies in their business transition.

Now, this specialized division will move forward together with Catalay as one brand under the Catalay name.

Sisu Group

Since 2021, both Catalay and Strand Associates are part of Sisu Group, an ecosystem of human capital ventures with a bold vision on the future. Sisu Group offers workforce solutions in a variety of industries and enables Catalay to accelerate to the next level in the engineering industry through collaboration with the other brands in the group.

"The merger between Catalay and Strand Engineering is a logical next step in our ambition to build and develop companies around a specific domain. With Sisu we help our companies accelerate by creating an environment that allows them to focus on what they do best, creating impact through talent. Meanwhile, we at Sisu create the fundamentals for companies in evolution by focusing on back-office support such as finance, marketing, hr, and operations.”

- Stephane Collignon, CEO Sisu Group

Today, Catalay focuses on staffing solutions for engineering projects in the energy, technology, industry, building, and infrastructure sector. By teaming up with the skilled engineers of Strand Associates, they will be expanding their services by offering advisory & training solutions for engineering projects. This partnership makes it also possible to offer further solutions in the process industry.

How does Catalay look at the future of engineering?

The goal of Catalay 2.0 is to be the best home for talented engineers who want to build a career in a vibrant and positive work environment. Catalay makes this possible with their team of engineers ready to address innovative and sustainable challenges. What drives them is the belief that human connection and expertise can create the right path toward a more sustainable future.

"We are more than happy to welcome Strand Engineering  as part of Catalay. Not only do we share the same values and way of working, but it will also allow having national coverage for our clients and consultants."

- Pascal Severs, Managing Director Catalay
