Strandie in the Spotlight: Florence Meert
Strandie in the spotlight

How long have you been at Strand and how did you get here?
For a year. I arrived at Strand thanks to Sophie Pochciol, a former colleague from Baxter.
What was your last job title & how would you describe this role in one sentence?
External Network Governance Manager. My job was to collaborate with all UCP people & all external networks to maintain the GMP processes and the compliance of CMO’s products.
If you could give one important piece of advice to others in the same function, what would it be?
It’s important to be a good communicator to explain all processes clearly to all stakeholders. Organizational skill is also essential, as there are a lot of ongoing projects.

Tell us something about an interesting hobby or passion.
I have several hobbies: reading, jogging, tennis, board games (Les Aventuriers du Rail, Azul, the Alhambra, Queen Domino, ...), traveling, skiing, hiking in nature (woods and seaside), and snowshoeing, it's in season!
How did you start to get passionate about this?
My future husband, Patrick does not ski and we had to find a solution while I was skiing: snowshoeing was the answer. I started to practice it as well and now I am half ski - half snowshoe.
Why does this energize you?
I love it because it's a total discovery of wonderful landscapes while being very quiet (far from noisy ski lifts and the population). Snowshoeing is much harder and more cardio than skiing, but what a healthy fatigue!
Why should anyone else give this a try?
It’s very energizing. It’s really for everyone but it is better to venture with a mountain guide to avoid snow traps.

The weekend in the Ardennes because it allowed us to meet the community of the Strandies and to be able to discuss our past and current experiences.
What’s the best thing about being a Project Consultant at Strand?
Being able to rely on and share the experience of other consultants to move forward on the various projects to be carried out.
Why should other pharma professionals consider becoming members of the Strand community?
Because being part of the Strandies allows you to rely on the resources of other consultants in the event of specific requests and/or problems.
How would you describe Strand in 3 words?
Reliable, efficient, and confident.
How does Strand’s community add value to your experience at Strand?
When I'm stuck on a project, I can always reach out to a fellow Strandie to share their experience with me to get me back on track.
